The Magic of Stripes

The Classy Short-Shorts!
For a long time I had the impression that short-shorts were a tights only combination, but today I was proven wrong and very gladly so!
I discovered the perfect pair of leg-lengthening, tummy-tucking shorts!
These Topshop beauties are a must-have for both the brave long-legged lasses and the slightly more self-conscious gals. The crazy stripes might be a put off for some, but vertical stripping is notorious for slimming and lengthening. Unlike most short-shorts these do not cut off your thigh in an uncomfortable position, demonstrating all your slightly less than faltering bits, these are just perfect! Also the fact that they are 98% cotton and only 2% elastane means they keep that tummy securely tucked: great to pair with a cropped tee.

The Genius Dress!
For a little while now I have been in awe with this miraculous piece of design. A dress that suits all figures, is that really possible?
Well I was not willing to believe so but with the dress making an appearance here and there I realised it is truly possible. As I said it is a combination of wonderful design and clever choice of prints, and stripes that makes this dress so flattering to both the slimmer and the more curvaceous girls!
The horizontal stripes on the chest accentuate the breast area and the slanted horizontal stripes that perfectly flow down your hips, either adding the extra your missing or slimming and creating a sexy hourglass silhouette. Yes the dress is a little short but if your leg proud and feeling a little brave, this is a great little gem waiting to be had!
Also remember that H&M is full of dresses this shape, of all different prints and colours; maybe it's worth a trip to your nearest store!
*I highly recommend going to the store that stocks their DIVIDED range because, you a more likely to find the cool prints and colours. Rather than shopping online because the range is limited!*

All this Talk of Baggy Beach Jumpers!

I first discovered Wildfox when the blogging and vlogging worlds came alive with talk about the ultra comfy and flattering baggy beach jumpers. To be quite honest I personally think they are a little overpriced (not that I wouldn't love one!) but I just think you could get a lot more for your money elsewhere.
Wildfox in general as a brand is quite expensive but I recently stumbled upon shopbop.com and guess what they're having a Spring/Summer sale! Even without the sale Wildfox is considerably cheaper there than it is on ASOS, take this jumper for example;

Totally a crazy amount of money but if your going to get it might as well be the cheaper option! Save your money for something else!
Now that there is a sale at shopbop.com you can pick up some real 'bargains' (well not really bargains but bargains in Wildfox world!)
There aren't that many Wildfox products on sale I must admit, but I just love the 'casual cool' look of the brand so I will be checking up on this site to see if any more great deals pop up!
So why not check out the shopbop sale and see what other little gems are out there!

*I must warn you that they only do free delivery on orders over $100 so thats about £64 so why not see if any of your other friends want something, and get it together! Will save you the extra delivery costs!*

Summer in The City

Some of us may have the pleasure of escaping the Olympic rush that is going to hit us this summer, but for most of us, including me, it will be a summer in the city. So why not embrace it?
With this Tuesdays temperature set to hit the mid-twenties, I think its time to get out the frocks and show some legs!
I've put together three outfits all centred around three beautiful yet affordable frocks.
This first outfit is probably my favourite! The dress is colourful yet still very classy, suiting women of all ages. This outfit would be great for the office and yet casual enough for the shopping spree on the weekend. Everything you need from at outfit to summer in the city.
The necklace and earrings are both from Forever 21.
The lovely leather bag is from Warehouse.
The gorgeous wedges are from Topshop.
And finally the fabulous frock is from H&M.

So onto outfit number two. When piecing together this outfit a feeling of dread filled me! I suddenly began to doubt my taste and judgment but I feel that the risk was worth it! I, myself rarely ever dare to wear pink but I think this paring of pinks is just wonderful. One misplaced shade of pink and this whole outfit could just make you look like a ball of candy floss, but with the paring of edgy gold accessories I personally believe it all works!
Pretty pink bag, earrings and the gold chain necklace all from Forever 21.
The baby pink suede wedges are from Topshop.
And of course the daring pink frock is from H&M.

The third outfit is probably the most expensive, however there are some great cheaper alternatives to the stripped dress in H&M. I chose this little number from Topshop because i thought the silky material would add to the luxury of the outfit. I'm most fond of the sandals and watch as they compliment each other really well! And what can I say for this cheeky little bag (which is currently on sale in Debehams so grab it while you can!!!), well I think it is just splendid, the tones of brown may not match the sandals and watch but I certainly do think they compliment each other!
Year in, year out the stripes make a reappearance so I do think this is a dress worth the money. It will become your go to piece every year as you can dress it up just as easily as you can dress it down!
Earrings from Forever 21.
The little brown bag is from Debenhams.
Retro watch form Urban Outfitters.
Dress and sandals both from Topshop.
Although it might be hot, hectic and just plain crazy in London this summer, you can take some comfort in the fact that you can face it looking good!
Hopefully theres a little something in there for everyone as I certainly want it all, so come pay day I shall be hitting Oxford Street picking up some of these gems myself!

Eagerly Awaiting!

Pre-Order

Back in September 2011 Fun. released a track that has been described as a 'game-changer' and a 'behemoth single leading the charge'. It is of course the phenomenal track 'We are Young', there is something almost anthem like which makes this track an instant classic.
Most of us were left wanting more!
And now there is more!
The bands new album 'Some Nights' is due to be released on the 28th May on iTunes. In previewing the tracks I have been left with the impression that 'We Are Young' is probably the best track on the album but what were we to expect, a track this good is hard to beat!
Nevertheless I am eagerly awaiting May 28th when I can fully enjoy this great album and the wonderful band that took us by surprise!

Whilst Waiting For Summer..

So lets be fair, the weather has not been treating us this year. Even though it is May already there has been a lack of summery feeling in the air!So I thought I'd put together an outfit which is great for the 'Spring Showers' and yet still make us feel like summer is round the corner. Some of the pieces like the colourful Vans, the denim jacket and the gorgeous leather bag will come in very handy this summer!
The Laddered Owl Crop Top, the Pale Khaki Leigh Jeans and the Crop Denim Bleach Jacket are all from Topshop.
The Metal Detail Leather Festival Bag is from Warehouse.
The lovely Dream Catcher Earrings are from Forever 21.
And now for the product which was hardest to track down, these wonderful colourful Slip-On Lo Pro Vans. Now they are available from their US store for $55.00 but I have found some of the other prints in Office for £39.99 hence why I quoted this price. I'm sure with time they will also stock this great on-trend print. So keep watch! But in the mean time you could just hit your nearest Vans store and check out what they have there!
I know this outfit isn't greatly on trend with the wast amount of bright colours that are hitting us this season but I thought my first 'Outfit of The Day' should represent me and what I'd wear day to day!

*A Sprinkle of Gold and Glitter!*

From the Left : Models Own Ibiza Mix, Gold Rush

For a long time now I have searched high and low for the perfect metallic nail polish, and at last I have found it!
What was more surprising was how versatile it really is, from the edgy pairing of gold and black nail crackling, to this beautiful summery pairing.
The nail polish is a sheer (almost clear) polish with millions of tiny specks of gold glitter. This gives you great control over how concentrated and intense you want your nail colour to be.
With a single coat of the Gold Rush paired with one or two coats of the Ibiza Mix you can create something which looks very delicate. Perfect for a special occasion such as your Prom, or just a summery everyday look.
What I have found is that the Ibiza Mix is slightly trickier to apply, as to get a good amount of glitter you have to apply a large amount of the clear polish, so I highly suggest you apply it in two or three thin coats. Although this is more time consuming it ensures the polish dries fully and is not left soft for hours.
All in all at
£5 a pop these two Models Own polishes
are a worth while investment, the varied size and colour glitter of Ibiza Mix looks great on any polish and Gold Rush adds that bit of sparkle to suit most outfits!
